FAQs

Once you book an appointment, I will send you a welcome package with tips on how to prepare for our photoshoot and a questionnaire. Your answers will help me to get to know you a little more to make the photoshoot even better. I recommend treating each session as you would a date, and prep for it in a similar manner.

Wear what’s natural and comfortable for you. What would you wear on a first date? Would you be casual or dressy? It really depends on the person you are. What makes you feel good about you. That’s confidence. People are attracted to confidence. Is there an outfit or two that you get a lot of compliments on? Wear that. Besides the full body shot, most of the shots are what we call in the industry ¾ length shots. That means photographs from head to mid thigh. For dating apps, because we are using our phones, we are mainly looking at your face, so really, it’s your top half that matters most. It’s also good have one full body shot so ideally, bring one complete outfit and for the the wardrobe change, you can just switch your top and we can focus on shooting you from above the waist.

Most photographers say to stick to solid colors and avoid prints. I really leave that up to you. There are some really great prints out there! Maybe bring one of each.

When we are shooting outdoors, my clients change in any public restrooms we can find such as park restrooms, restaurant restrooms, hotel restrooms, or our vehicles (if you’re ok with that). Or if we are shooting are shooting at my studio, or at an indoor location than you will have a designated private area to change.
If we are shooting outdoors, Bay Area weather is unpredictable but the fog is romantic, isn’t it? Overcast weather is actually ideal for shooting. If it happens to rain on the day, we’ll find an indoor spot. I have lots of ideas. Regardless, we can have a conversation the day before the shoot to see what would work best.
How you can help us, is if you would relax. Take deep cleansing breaths. Bring your favorite music to listen to or I have Spotify and can get that going for us. Get a good night’s sleep before the shoot. Maybe get a haircut and style your hair in your favorite way. Women bring makeup that makes you look your best.
Above all, looking comfortable is the most important. For men, showing pride is key. Basically, look confident – it’s attractive. Being confident, authentic and genuine, is what you need to express in your photos. That applies to women too. And don’t forget to smile. Everyone loves a big, warm smile, it’s the first thing people notice when browsing through profiles. It also good to capture a variety of different expressions. Laugh, try a small smile, or try being flirtatious.
